India and 17 other countries were on Monday elected as new members of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The other new members are Belarus, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Lesotho, Libya, Nigeria, Spain and Trukey, xinhua reported.

The new members will begin their three-year terms beginning Jan 1, 2012.

ECOSOC is the coordinating body for economic and social work of the UN agencies. It serves as a forum for discussing poicy matters as well as making recommendations.

At any given time, 54 nations serve in the council, and are elected for overlapping terms based on geographic groupings to ensure that a diversity of regions are represented.

Through its discussions on international economic and social issues, the ECOSOC plays a key role in fostering cooperation for development.

The 1st AIHRA was established to foster global peace, prosperity and justice.

3. AIHRA is an exploring, explosive and investigating News Agency that reveals and exposes breaking news of the Government Ignored-ones, and the news of Criminal nature to the World of Press and Electronics Media.

AIHRA is an intrepid, fearless, impartial, neutral and independent Organization that pens against Crime, Corruption in Society, against anti Nationalism in human activities and with the strength of the Court and Media brings improvement and creates awareness in the minds of the Governed and the Governing.
5. AIHRA is creating a favorable atmosphere of Art, Culture, Literature, Amiability and Assistance.
6. AIHRA has been amalgamating, integrating and unifying the Intellectuals, Youths, Students, Ladies, Businessmen, Authors, Laureates, Poets, Writers, Social Workers into a single unit for the protection of Human Rights and a favorable environment.
7. AIHRA is endeavoring to open Residential Secular Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and Old-Age-Homes in all parts of the Country to enhance the Government’s initiative in these sectors .
8. AIHRA shall fight against communalism and terrorism and determined for establishing the atmosphere of peace.
9. AIHRA shall arrange to provide Scholarship and Hostels for intelligent and meritorious students of economically weaker section.
